Irie Ites' Newst Artist

Introducing: Sena, originally from Ghana. She's the newest female artist on the Irie Ites record label and she's bringin with her a lot of talent--she's killin in lyrically. Her deep, soulful voice adds a unique sound to Irie Ites. A lot of their stuff is a real grungy, rough-neck roots type of sound, with some real grungy, rough-neck roots dudes voicing on top of it. It's nice to get a different flavor coming from these guys.

Jam(s) of the Week

Jam of the week: "Do You Hear," by Hyah Slyce. I gotta give thanks to Nickel B for this tune--real mean dancehall track off the Liberty Riddim of 2008. If you've never hear this dude before, he's definitely got some talent. Also check out "All & All" below, which is a better example of what this guy can do on a reggae track. BOOM TUNES!

Good Girl Gone Bad

Tarrus has been hustlin HARD recently. I'm tellin you, his new album is gonna be one of the greatest modern roots albums we've seen since the days of the king himself. He's gettin his feet wet in every way possible. He's been doing collaborations all over the board - tracks with dancehall artists like demarco, bugle and this one below with Konshens. He's of course, also been doing new roots tracks with artists like Alaine and Sizzla, and he's obviously been doin his own this as well. His next album should be a schmorgasbord of different sounding tunes, I can't wait.

This track below is another dancehall colab he did with Konshens, "Good Girl Gone Bad." I first heard it probably a month ago and I remember I wasn't really feelin it at first. It's a very different sound for Tarrus, so you may react the same way at first. The more you listen to it, though, the more you find your self jammin to it. Stay tuned to Rudeboy for more Tarrus...

Tarrus Riley to Drop New Album Soon!

According to the Jamaica Observer, Tarrus Riley, in collaboration with producer/manager/saxophonist Dean Frasier (who also helped produce Tarrus' last two albums), are scheduled to drop a third album this March. Supposedly, there should be tag-team efforts on this album with Damian Marley, Etana, Alaine, Demarco, and more.
Over the past few months I've heard a couple new Tarrus tracks, and each one is absolute fire. I think this third album is gonna be one of greatest modern roots reggae albums to come around in a long time. This track below is one that just came out, off the Changes riddim, it's called "Getty No Want We." Lyrically, it's another hard-hitting single from Tarrus - it's honestly the best Tarrus song I've ever heard, I cannot stop listening to it. The riddim is another hit from Don Corleon productions, check it out below.
Keep a look out of the new album, like I said, which should be out somewhere towards the end of the month/early april.

UPDATE!!

Divshare Sucks (and show 6 now up)

So you can't listen to or download any of the older shows until March 9th, I have no idea why, but that's just what I was told, so cool your jets until then. For now though, below is show 6. If you missed it, you really missed a good. The recording starts like 5 min. in, in the middle of the Higher Meditation riddim.

Remember that Rudeboy Reggae (east coast) will not be on air for 2 weeks as I will be gone for spring break. I definitely plan on coming back raining straight fiyah so be sure to tune in after the short intermission.

Also, I'm in the process of trying to get DJ Tosheba of Itation Sound in the studio sometime in the next coming weeks, so keep an ear out for that. If you missed him this Monday night at Pheonix Landing you missed a good show. Be sure to check him out on myspace to keep up with his local shows and the latest from Itation Records.
