"Is This Love" Remix

Dubmatix presents the revised version of their original remix of Bob Marley's, "Is This Love." The group originally released this single a few years back - infusing their own up-beat, dance melody to the original track: a great addition to any Marley library.

Check out more from Dubmatix HERE, where you can download and stream a lot more remixes as well as original production.

Romain Virgo

I was introduced to Romain Virgo sometime in 2008, after he won the Digicel Rising Stars competition (Jamaica’s American Idol) at the age of 17. But I wasn’t completely impressed immediately. Just recently though, I started to check out some of his less mainstream tracks and can’t stop listening to them. He’s by far one of the most promising young-guns coming out of Jamaica, and you’re sure to keep hearing more tracks coming from him. For now, check out some of my favorite tunes of his. The first one is a single, and the second two come from his debut, self-titled album.

The Sweet Wata Riddim

Right on cue, Juke Boxx, one of my favorite production groups - the same group that brought you the Nylon and Indiscretions riddims - releases a springtime hit. This is not a rhythm for the dancehalls, and might not even make a lot of mixes this spring because of its steady, mellow vibe, but it is no doubt a great  release. There are a number of big names on this album, and the low-key, R&B-influenced rhythm encourages good, conscious lyrics from the likes of Beres Hammond, Tony Rebel and Queen I-frica. Peter Morgan and the young gun, Romain Virgo, don't necessarily bring it with their lyrics on this one, but both obviously kill it with their vocals. It's tough to say who has the best single on this album because all are great tracks.
