Fiji: Born and Raised II (The Rebirth)

Legendary artist and Pacific Island reggae pioneer, FIJI, has just dropped a new album titled Born and Raised II (The Rebirth). For those of you unfamiliar with George FIJI Veikoso, he is truly one of the most innovative artists in the genre, helping establish Pacific reggae and take it to the main stage of music, even performing the national anthem at a Pittsburgh Steelers Football game back in October. His style and blend of music is incomparable to any other artist out there.

The new album is one of the best reggae albums that I've heard in a while. Straight off the top shelf, the music is superb, start to finish, couldn't ask for anything more. FIJI has stated this album as "coming around full circle. A greatest hits from the diary of his life." Big ups to Fiji for a beautifully composed and produced album that is the symbol of the evolution of Pacific Island reggae, a genre that wouldn't be where it is without him. Get the album for yourself on iTunes (sitting at #27 on the pop charts next to Neil Daimond and Justin Beiber as Im writing) and help support Pacific music! Album includes special guest appearances from J-Boog, Common Kings, Irie Love, and Peter Morgan. Find out more about the man and his music on his site fijitheartist.com. Much respect to the legendary FIJI! Boom Bahng!
